SPRAY TAN PREPERATION & CARE
The lasting results of a spray tan and final outcome not only depend on the ph balance of your skin, the quality of the spray solution, and the technique used to spray you, other factors weigh in on your results. Follow this guide for Preparation & Care for your Airbrush Spray Tan and get the best long-lasting results!
BEFORE YOUR SESSION:
- Get a pedicure, manicure, and waxing done at least one day before the tan.
- At least 2 hours before being sprayed, exfoliate evenly with a non oil body wash or exfoliating wash. Ex. St Ives Apricot face scrub and a wash cloth.
- Shave and rinse any hair conditioner out before washing and exfoliating.

- Do not use Dove products or bar soap.
- Do not use makeup, perfume or lotion once prepping for your tan. It is really important to start with a clean canvas for even absorption and even development.
THE DAY OF YOUR SESSION:
- Wear loose and dark clothing to avoid rubbing your tan off, sweating, transference from skin to skin or on furniture, such as bedding. Flip flops are good when you must wear shoes.
- Dont rest your hands on your skin or itch.This causes dirty looking hands and fingers.
- Avoid sweating and any contact with water until your rinse time. This can result in a blotchy and uneven tan..This can result in a blotchy and uneven tan
- Wait for the time suggested before you rinse! Rinse and wipe away all solution on the skin using warm water and hands only.
- The bronzer will rinse down the drain and your full color will develop within 24 hours from the time you were sprayed.
- It is important to rinse and wipe away the solution evenly.
- Letting water run down your skin too long can cause water run marks from the bronzer. *This will disappear after your first real shower with soap
- Do not use soap or lotion for 24 hours after being sprayed.
AFTER THE SESSION:
- Use your hands only with a spray tan safe body wash. Pat dry only! We recommend Hempz body wash. This is available at the time of your appointment and at a discounted rate.
- Do not use bar soap or Dove products..
- Avoid long hot showers and any products with Petrolatum, mineral oil, or alcohol.. This will either dry out your tan or wear it away unevenly.
